Determination of gonosomatic index, hepatosomatic index and condition factor in Liza carinata (Valenciennes, 1836)

Morphometric of examination gonads Liza carinata were performed for one year (October 1995 – September 1996) to study the maturation development. Monthly variation in gonado somatic index (GSI) noticed, that started with low values during October and November. Significant increase was recorded period December - April peak February (3.59 males & 9.33 females) followed by a significant decline May September. Variations hepato (HSI) related feeding activity rather than gonadal maturation. Peaks HIS GSI at similar time period. On contrary, condition factor (SCF) closely stages. Lower winter months which showed higher GSI.
